Beschreibung:Prof. Nikola I. Stamenković (1858, Belgrade – 1910, Niš) was born into the wealthy family of tailor Ignjat Stamenković and his wife Slavka. After graduating from the Faculty of Engineering at the Grande École in Belgade, he continued his studies in Munich. Upon his return, he first started working in the Ministry of Construction and later returned to the Faculty of Engineering as a professor. He was a member of numerous associations, co-founder of the Serbian "Technical Journal" (tehnički list) and involved in many projects concerned with hydraulics. He was married and had four children.
