He is considered one of the most famous representatives of Serbian classical music. He composed "Marš na Drinu" (March to the Drina) to commemorate the first victory of the Entente Powers in World War I (1914), when the Serbian Army defeated a larger Austro-Hungarian Army invading Serbia from Bosnia across the Drina River. In 1903 he wrote the music for "Na Uranku" (At Dawn), the first Serbian opera with a libretto by Branislav Nušić. In 1899 Binički, Stevan Mokranjac, one of his former teachers, and Cvetko Manojlović founded the first independent music school in Serbia: the Serbian Music School in Belgrade. Binički was also a member of the 'Pobratim' (blood brother) Masonic Lodge.</dc:description><dc:description/><dc:subject>Cultural Participation</dc:subject><dc:subject>Public Structures</dc:subject><dc:subject>Banking</dc:subject><dc:subject>Music</dc:subject><dc:subject>Musical and Theatrical Productions</dc:subject><dc:subject>Personal Names</dc:subject><dc:subject>Status, Role, and Prestige</dc:subject><dc:subject>Social Stratification</dc:subject><dc:subject>Philanthropic Foundations</dc:subject><dc:source>Muzej Pozorišne Umetnosti Srbije, II-14</dc:source><dc:publisher>Southeast European History and Anthropology, Institute of
