Autor/Ersteller:Giz, Selahattin
Schlagwort:Streets and Traffic
Schlagwort:Public Structures
Schlagwort:Highways and Bridges
Beschreibung:The photographer’s shadow falls across the construction site of Atatürk Bridge. Construction is already quite advanced but the two lengths of the bridge are still separated by a strip of sea. Two larger and a smaller boat are passing just below. There is a tall pole to the right of the photographer. The far end of the bridge, together with the background, presents a view of the neighbourhoods of Şişhane and Galata, dominated by Galata Tower.
Beschreibung:The picture is part of documentation on the final stages of the construction of Atatürk Bridge. The foundation was laid on 29 August 1936. The bridge opened on 29 October 1939.
