<dc:description xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">Das Chronometer von Assmus Johannsen wurde 1871 in London gefertigt. Es besitzt drei Ziffernblätter,  eines für Stunden- und Minutenanzeige, eines für Sekundenanzeige und eines für eine Gangreserveanzeige. Die Uhr besitzt eine Kardanische Aufhängung und mißt die Sternzeit. Das Instrument befindet sich im Museum der Universitätssternwarte Wien.

Technische Details:

Skala I_XII, unten kleine Sekundenskala 10-60 Sekunden (10-Sekunden-Schritte bezeichnet), oben Anzeige der Gangreserve 0-56 (8-Stunden-Schritte bezeichnet) und deutsch "AB AUF".
Messinggehäuse in kardanischer Aufhängung, im Holzkasten, mit einklappbaren Messinggriffen, doppelte öffnungsmöglichkeit für Ablesung und Zugang zum Werk, Aufzugsschlüssel; Durchm. des Gehäuses max. 12,2 cm, Höhe 7 cm.
Sign. auf dem Zifferblatt "A. JOHANNSEN LONDON No 878", auf dem Kasten vorn "A. JOHANNSEN LONDON -.- Chronometer No. 878", Vermerk in Maschinenschrift auf Papier "Sternzeit Wien".</dc:description>
<dc:description xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">The chronometer by Assmus Johannsen was built in London in 1871. The three dials indicate the hours and minutes, the seconds and the power reserve, respectively. The chronometer is gimballed and measures the siderial time. The instrument is located at the museum of the Vienna University Observatory.</dc:description>
