Corpus of French Adjective-Adverbs in informal texts from the Web: Fr_A_Web

This database comprises over 5.000 annotated examples of 389 different
adjective-adverbs used in colloquial present-day French. The entries were
taken from Internet sources such as blogs and forums and collected by
searching via Google for the "verb +
adjective-adverb" combinations previously registered in the diachronic
French Corpus (see Fr_A_DHAA). Hence, this database is composed by manner
adverbs (adjective-adverbs which modify the verb of the sentence). The
database was elaborated by the project team of the FWF-funded project Dictionnaire historique de l’adjectif-adverbe (P
25467 project, 2013-2016) which included: Helena Telsnig, Greta Korper and
Anna Gazdik, under the supervision of project director Martin Hummel. The
aim of this database is to document the use of French adjective-adverbs in
colloquial contemporary French. The database is a complement to the
historical database (Fr_A_DHAA), which is a rather "bon usage" Corpus. The
examples have been included in the Dictionnaire historique
de l’adjectif-adverbe (Hummel & Gazdik, in print). The data was
annotated for the aaif-Database in 2018; first semi-automatically by the
project team (FWF-Project “Open Access Database - Adjective-Adverb
Interfaces in Romance”, ORD 66-VO) and then revised by Julia Höfferer. The
List of Lemmata shows the number of examples registered for each of the 389
different adjective-adverb lemmata.
