                    <dc:description>The Petit Hôtel Labottière, a remarkable example of neo-classical architecture, was built between 1783 and 1788 by the architect Laclotte. In the 19th century it was subject to additions, elevations and major changes to the lay-out of the interior. In the 1960's the building was to be demolished and replaced by a modern structure. By acquiring the Petit Hôtel Labottière, its new owners succeeded in saving and restoring this small jewel of 18th century urban architectural heritage. The later addition of a top floor has been removed, the roofs and the façade renovated, the interior refurbished with details and furniture of the period and the gardens have been reconstructed. The Petit Hôtel Labottière, restored to its original splendor, is now administered by a Foundation, established in 1983. It is open to the public and used to accommodate French and foreign scientists who visit the university of Bordeaux.</dc:description>
