| Beschreibung: | The protected Uldrupgården represents a rare farm type originating from the Holstein architectural tradition as expressed in the construction and Iayout of the farmhouse. It stands in a unique location in the beautiful Aakjaer valley landscape, at the foot of the Uldrup Hills. Buildings and surroundings make out a unity with a rare depth of feeling. In spring 1997, due to the extreme condition of decay, it was seriously considered to withdraw the preservation order and give up the buildings. In spite of the extremely poor condition, however, the restoration began. The background of this decision was the particular value constituted by the interaction between the buildings and the landscape, the unquestionable architectural qualities and cultural history connected to Denmark's only preserved Schäfergaard. | |
