| Beschreibung: | Reconstruction of a renaissance garden surrounding the castle. The "Pomeranzengarten" ("Pomeranzen" being a kind of bitter orange) was originally laid out in 1609 by the famous court architect Heinrich Schickhardt for the dowager duchess Sibylla of Württemberg. Its use gradually declined and it was left completely unattended after WWII. In 1974 parts of the original garden (eg. decorative masonry of fountain) were rediscovered and it was decided to reconstruct the garden as close to the original renaissance plans as possible. The garden is now an attractive leisure area open to the public. | |
