| Beschreibung: | Liberton Tower, sited with spectacular views over the city of Edinburgh, is a fifteenth century tower house of particular interest in the evolution of Scottish architecture. The solid stone roof of the building has survived extraordinarily well and is the main reason for the survival of the tower in such a good state of preservation and remarkably unaltered since it became uninhabitated in the seventeenth century. The Castles of Scotland Preservation Trust commissioned archeological investigations and the restoration of the building, permitting minor adaptation to allow the building to be let out as a self-contained holiday accomodation | |
