<dc:description>The Art Nouveau style building created by the Belgian architect Van de Velde has hosted in 1919 the "Staatliches Bauhaus Weimar". The building is one of the sites of the Bauhaus school of architecture in Weimar: later on, Dessau became a Bauhaus site as well). The building has been listed as an UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1996 and became, as such, the subject of a renovation for future use as a School of architecture. The restoration works comprised such things as the improving of fire safety, thermal and technical installations while retaining the original structure as far as possible.</dc:description>
