                    <dc:description>The "Markou" Watermill was originally a rectangular four storey building, built in 1911 in the city of Veroia. lts wooden floors were anchored along the perimeter on the masonry walls and were supported along the mid span on steel columns and girders. The building was destroyed by fire in 1981 and when the Ministry of Culture bought it for the purpese of establishing a Byzantine Museum for this historic city, only the outer shell of the building was intact. The conservation and restoration project evolved on the idea of consolidation the existing, reconstructing the interior, while paying particular respect to its original form and lay out. adapting the building to its new use and function.</dc:description>
